The comarca of Gijón, a tourist and University area
Situation: The District of Gijón is located to the North of the Principality of Asturias, single autonomous community. During the 20th century, it was an industrial city that has been transformed into a tourist center with a large university life.

Location: The Principality of Asturias is located in the north of the Iberian peninsula. It borders with other communities such as Galicia, Castilla y Leon and Cantabria. To the north is the Cantabrian Sea with many towns on the coast.
Municipalities: Composed of more than one hundred municipalities which are attached through councils. The economy of the community focuses mainly on sector services and livestock.
What to see? Asturias is a place in which you can find both large green meadows and beautiful beaches. In the summer, enjoy excursions in temperate weather. There are must-see places like Oviedo or Gijón.
What to eat? Asturian fabada is the principle dish of Asturias, but there is also a cuisine rich with more than a hundred types of cheeses typical of the region, and beverages such as cider.
Where to stay? You can stay at any of the large municipalities where you will have no problem finding a hotel.
How to get there? The main means of transportation is the car. It can be reached by any of the highways connecting Asturias with its surroundings. It has an airport near Oviedo and a daily bus and train system.
